What does the summary of Bikma's report tell me?

Report

The report summary tells you on a single page how much space you take up in AI answers compared with your competitors: Share of Voice is your brand's share of presence out of all mentions in the sector, and the comparison with the leader and the other players measures the gap to close.

What Share of Voice measures

Share of Voice shows how often your brand appears in AI assistants' answers compared with all the brands in the sector. Expressed as a percentage, it tells you your slice of the conversation generated by AI. A high Share of Voice means that when a user asks a sector question, the assistant names you often; a low one means the space is taken by others.

The comparison with competitors

The number on its own says little: what matters is compared with whom. That is why the summary sets your Share of Voice beside that of the market leader and the other main competitors. The gap to the leader shows how much room for growth you have; the distance from those behind you shows how solid your position is. It is the reading that sets the priority of the work in the three areas that follow.

Where the figure comes from

The report's Share of Voice comes from Bikma's monitoring of the sector's prompts, weighted with the Prompt Probability Index according to how likely a user is to ask them. That way the share reflects real questions, not a theoretical list. The observed figure (the percentage) stays separate from the interpretation (what it means for strategy), which the report makes explicit.

Frequently asked questions

Is a low Share of Voice always a problem?

Not necessarily: it has to be read against competitors and against your starting point. The value of the summary lies precisely in the comparison, which tells you whether the space is held by a few leaders or spread out, and how much room for growth you have.

Is the report's Share of Voice the same as the dashboard's?

Yes: the report takes the figure measured by Bikma and puts it into perspective with the competitor comparison and the actions that follow. The dashboard remains the place to track it over time.

Why is the comparison made with those particular competitors?

The competitors in the comparison are the sector brands that AI names alongside you on the same questions. The set of monitored competitors can be extended as needed.
