Which third-party sites should I get cited on, according to the report?

Report

The citations area of the report tells you where AI assistants go for information about your sector, beyond your own site: it identifies the third-party sources most used in answers and shows where it pays to be present in order to get cited.

Why off-site presence matters

Assistants do not draw only on brands' websites: a large share of answers relies on third-party sources such as news outlets, directories, sector portals and communities. If your brand does not appear on those sources, you lose visibility even with a perfect site. The off-site part of the report looks precisely beyond your site, where presence is built in a different way.

The sites AI cites most

The report lists the third-party sources that recur most in your sector's answers, excluding direct competitors' sites, and for each one explains what kind of site it is and how much weight it carries in the answers. It is the map of the places assistants go to inform themselves: knowing which they are tells you where it is worth investing in presence, mentions or content.

Where to go

From the map of sources the report draws the operational guidance: which third-party sites it pays to be on and how, for example with an up-to-date listing, a piece of content, a mention or a partnership. The aim is to appear where AI looks for information, so that answers also draw on sources that talk about you. This is Bikma's External Sources dimension seen from the side of action.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the report exclude competitors' sites from the sources?

Because you cannot build your own presence on competitors' sites. The list focuses on neutral third-party sources, where you can be present with listings, content or mentions.

What is the difference between off-site citations and on-site content?

On-site content concerns your own pages; off-site citations concern your presence on third-party sites. They are two complementary levers: your site makes you citable, external sources widen the places AI draws on.

How do you act on a third-party source?

It depends on the type of site: a listing to update, content to publish, a mention or a partnership. The report shows the priority sources; how to cover them is part of the action plan.
