Which tools track citations in AI-generated answers?

Module

Bikma's External Sources module tracks the domains that feed the models' knowledge and classifies them by type and Domain Authority, as a dimension of AI visibility in its own right.

How it works in Bikma

For each answer, Bikma collects the sources the model drew on and ties them to the prompt, the model and the brand being discussed. Every domain is labelled by category (news, retailer, reviews, forum, official site) and enriched with its Domain Authority, so authoritative sources can be told apart from marginal ones.

The earned-media effect

Generative engines tend to favour third-party sources over content published by the brand: often the official site is not the main lever. Measuring citations as a separate dimension shows where to earn coverage (which domains to hold, where to correct wrong information) instead of working on your own site alone.

Why it matters

Whoever controls the cited sources controls the story AI builds about the brand: comparing the brand's sources with its competitors' shows who is winning that contest.
